Volunteerism

We recognize the invaluable contribution of volunteers; whose dedication, support and commitment makes our work possible. Through our volunteers Survivors On Purpose Inc. can provide direct and personal support to women, their families and supporters in the community in many ways. Although fundraising is important to us, we strongly depend on our volunteers and on local donations to raise funds for all of our work. The SOP team of volunteers is committed to providing support to every person in our community who is going through the breast cancer journey by:

  • Providing social activities and events for fun, education and for ongoing sharing and support to members and their guests. Fun and laughter are important factors during the journey.

  • Organizing workshops and other supporting activities. SOP organizes workshops several times each year designed to provide information and advice on the support services available to them and ways that help to keep going and enjoy life.

  • Staying in touch through a quarterly newsletter, regular emails.Raising awareness in the community.

  • Survivors On Purpose Inc. runs a TNBC campaign designed to raise awareness about breast cancer, spread the ‘early detection’ message, educate people on the need to check often and explain how to detect anything unusual. We do this through presentations and through community events initiated by SOP.
